Monopoly was the family favorite in our house. Every time we played, my parents worked in the same lesson: owning property matters, and it usually takes sweat equity.
Not long after, they had my brother and me helping with our family’s first house flip. The previous owner had abandoned the place and left five cats behind to roam it. It was an absolute mess — the whole thing had to come apart and go back together from the ground up. It was hard work, and it was a blast. Somewhere in there I fell in love with using my hands to make a space better than I found it.
I still do. Today I manage a portfolio of real estate — and still enjoy swinging a hammer.

My approach to real estate is the hard way. It’s work. But it builds two things that serve you for the rest of your life: a financial foundation, and a set of skills. I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, and learned a lot from every one of them.
